House Rules & Safety

We care about your safety and those around you!

Our goal is to ensure you have an excellent time while using our mobile sauna. Please read below, and contact us with any questions!

Our Cleaning Procedure

Whether you are looking for a cleaner mind or a cleaner body, you want to have a clean environment.

At Tide and Timber Sauna, we follow clear hygiene standards to keep every session clean and comfortable. Our saunas are built from premium cedar, a wood naturally resistant to bacteria, fungi, and decay. After each session, we wipe down benches and high-touch surfaces, mop, and fully dry the interior to prevent moisture buildup. We also perform regular deep cleans using gentle, sauna-safe products to refresh all surfaces and maintain the long-term health of the wood. This routine helps ensure a consistently safe, relaxing experience for every guest.

Tide and Timber Sauna House Rules

To keep the sauna clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone, please follow these simple guidelines:

Sauna Space & Seating: Our sauna fits 4–6 people comfortably. The benches are sturdy, but please don’t jump or subject them to sudden pressure.  Treat them with care so we can all enjoy them for years to come.

Clean Skin, Clean Sauna: Please shower and rinse off before your session. Skip any lotions, oils, perfumes, or creams—they can stain the wood, linger in the sauna , and aren’t great for your skin in the heat.

Dry Sauna, Safe Sauna: After rinsing off, please dry off excess water before entering the sauna to avoid bringing excess water into the sauna.

Food and Drink:  Bring drinking water, but please no other food or drinks inside. Ideally, water should be in a insulated stainless steel or double-walled stainless steel bottles; plastic gets hot and do not bring glass. No alcohol or drugs before or during your sauna time—this helps keep everyone safe and without incident.

Footwear: Please use clean flip-flops between rounds and place all footwear on the mat provided outside the sauna door. Please do not wear dirty footwear in the sauna.

Towel Time: Always sit on a towel in the sauna—it’s the best way to keep the benches clean for everyone. We recommend two towels: one to sit on, one to dry off. Robes or hand towels are also great between rounds. Towels are available to rent if you forget yours.

Keep It Cozy: Want to add steam? Just check in with your group before pouring water on the rocks—it’s a kind gesture and part of sauna tradition.
